Hi Jill,

The first item you mentioned, i.e., recent installation of a cable tv
connection could definitely be creating an issue for you. Rarely are
these cable connections correctly grounded, which means they need to
be connected to the same ground as the home wiring system. The ground
for your home wiring must also be correctly implemented which many
times is not the case, too. (A lot of older homes use the plumbing as
a ground!) Current loops through the cabling and home wiring can
result if both of these conditions are not met. This brings a whole
bunch of extra fields whose locations may be hard to predict or change
as the community power grid your home is a part varies in use
throughout the day.

And, even if you have a correct home and cable ground, the cable
frequencies can cause difficulty for some with ES, especially if it is
digital cable which is typically more inciting than analog signals.
You don't need an electric or magnetic field in the region to
potentially cause problems, the field can just be nearby.

The best way to test this is to disconnect the cable at the box where
it enters the home. Leave it disconnected for a week and see how you do.

Your carpet cleaning can also be giving you some difficulty as you've
got MCS, too. Even if you're not sensitive to the cleaning materials,
the cleaning process usually reactivates release of vapors from the
carpet material. This vapor release reactivation is stimulated by the
solvents like the triphosphoric acid you mentioned, as well as water
(another solvent), and high temperature. The vapors typically contain
things like formaldehyde, for example. In this case, you'll need to
air out the house for awhile, sometimes several weeks. Air filters,
unless they are guaranteed to remove things like formaldehyde gas,
won't help this drying out / deactivation process. Heating up the
house and airing it out many many times is the best thing that has
worked for other chemically sensitive people I've spoken with.

I'd try the cable disconnect right away and try to spend as much time
in fresh air and with open windows as possible. Supplement yourself
well, but don't take a lot of detoxifying things just yet as your
system sounds like it is already in overload.

more and more incapacitating every day...numbness and pain in limbs,
increased heart rate, extreme irritability, etc. I unplug everything
all the time, but with this condition, the computer is my lifeline to
the world, so is the car. And even with everything but air filters
unplugged at night, I still go to bed and wake with intensely swollen
hands. This is usually an EMF reaction for me.
