What works for me + I have tried A LOT!

Hi. I developed e.s. about 2 years ago and for me it consists of extreme
agitation and insomnia when exposed to emfs from computers, telephone, etc.
Listed below is what has helped me and what has NOT helped me (your
mileage may vary, as they say).

HELPED:
1. Very strong fish oil. Almost completely got rid of the E.S.
Unfortunately, I also have an immune system problem and the fish oil caused me to
run some serious fevers and feel like I have the flu (what I feel like with a
flare-up of chronic fatigue immune dysfunction syndrome). This is apparently
extremely unusual and may be because fish oil is high in eicosapentanoic acid
which causes macrophages to pull for a T helper cell 2 response. A lot of
people with CFIDS are already shifted too much towards T helper cell 2 response
(instead of dynamic balance between T helper cells 1 and 2) and this causes
latent viruses to become reactivated, thus the fevers, etc.
Anyway, if you have agitation and/or insomnia from EMFs, a good strong
fish oil is a place to start and may be all you need unless you have an unusual
immune system dysfunction.
Note: I did try various fish oils from the store and they didn't do
anything (good or bad) and I *personally* found Barry Sears' fish oil to be
extremely potent. I am sure there are others which are also very good. I do not
have any association with Sears or his fish oil, etc. Just sharing my
experience.
2. High doses of magnesium glycinate. This is an especially
bioavailable form of magnesium. Can make one nauseated. I have a documented magnesium
deficiency, so may be this is why this helps me.
3. Neurontin. This did help a lot with the e.s., but I developed a
tolerance to it (had to take more and more to get the same effect) and recently
had to stop taking it. Also, I found it extremely fatiguing and it caused
memory problems, which are going away now that I stopped taking it.
4. Using only a laptop computer running on the battery. I notice a big
difference running the computer on household current and the battery.
5. a polyphone conference phone. this is the brand used in most
corporate environments. so good that people usually don't know you are using
speakerphone (because of dual duplex technology or somthing like that). I searched
high and low on the internet and found one for a little under $300. U.S.
including shipping and handling. That's actually a great price as it lists for
closer to $400.
6. Graham-Stetzer filters. I didn't need the full "set" sold in some
places because I live in an apartment. Got it directly from Stetzer electronics
in Minnesota. Agitation is definitely less with them installed.
7. oddly, and at the risk of sounding flaky, a bracelet made of quartz
crystal which I had just gotten because I thought it was pretty! Somewhat
calming.
8. This grounding pad thingy for the car that you sit on and it is
attached to metal under the seat. Don't remember the name. Got it from
lessemf.com (No association with them etc.)
9. Some relaxation type tapes are of limited benefit. My problem seems
to be threshold for neuronal firing is too low and anything that raises
threshold (meditation,etc., is helpful).
Did NOT help:
1. Bioelectric Shield (pendant worn around neck)
2. Teslar watch (made me worse, quickly!)
Not sure if helps or not:
1. Q-link (another pendant worn around neck). I don't know if this
helps or not, but I actually had it before I got e.s. and it certainly didn't
stop me from getting it! However, since the warranty long wore out, I do
continue to wear it.
By the way, I am also really sensitive to sound (predates e.s.). Are
others as well?
Stephanie
