Right you are, Sarah. I forgot to mention clock radios -- these
were among the first to go for us. I've also gotten rid of all
bedside lamps. And we have*nothing* plugged into the outlets
near the bed any more -- no electrical wires running underneath,
no phone cords. I think in the bedroom we have one floor lamp
positioned as far from the bed as possible, and that's it. Of
course at night the circuit to the bedroom is turned off anyway.
We keep a few flashlights near the bed in case we need to get
up and walk around at night. But once you get into the habit of
having the circuits off it's no big deal -- and we do find that we
sleep better.
If you have some circuits on timers (we had a bunch of these for
an aquaterrium -- fog machines and waterfalls that worked on a
schedule -- the fields generated are pretty high. The wires for
ours ran under the couch and we couldn't figure out at first why
the living room couch was such a problem spot. Timers and
dimmers in general seem to be bad news.
