Several years ago, I also experienced street lights (Yellow/Orange Sodium
Vapour Lamps) going out as I walked past on many occasions, and I know of one
guy who experiences this to extremes - many street lights go out as he walks
along any road. I would say that in some, if not many cases, it could be a
case of faulty electronics combined with a person considering themselves to be
the centre of the universe (since we are all the centres of our own unique
perception of the universe). Perhaps though, in other cases, it is in fact
related to an interaction between the electronic device (in this case a sodium
vapour lamp with electronic ballast) and a person, or something associated with
a person (such as another electronic device or an unusual electric field
associated with a person, which could also explain the shocks). Perhaps it is
a bit of both (i.e. a faulty light that is very susceptible to external
interference) - in my opinion, only a pure experiment, rather than subjective
statistical analysis, will ever answer this particular question.

Hi, Marc,
naturally you can see the lights go out only while looking at them;
they may go on and off all the time, but as long as you are not
looking you dont know. There is no mystery involved exept that you
think being the center of the world.
