suffer from cell phone and WIFI headaches, work in a radio silence area?

ES person
I've heard there is an area in Virginia without cell phones or WIFI.  Where is that?  Any hints for finding work in the computer science field there or a place like it?

I think you must be referring to Green Bank, West Virginia.  Although not much of a population there.  And some people actually don't seem to feel better there, so it really depends on what you are actually sensitive to.

It is very remote. Greenbank, WV. I kind of liken life there to an episode of Homestead Rescue. I am off grid, but there is a coop and grocery store 20 min away and I can reach Tucson AZ in 1 hr 45 min. Green bank had no grocery store or anything else. The observatory is the main employer. Of course to get food and other needs it will be 2 hrs each way on BAD icy snow winding roads. The observatory may have some IT jobs available. Of course the location of the 2 hr away stores is not RF free nor the stores-you will get blansted shopping and then have to make the way home in a stupor.  You will have to shovel yourself out of the snow and chop your own wood, there is no one for higher for these things the way there is in the NE areas. You will need a generator as they have long outages. There are basically no rentals in the radio free zone and purchase is the only option. If there is anything listed for sale. At one time there was a lot more listings and even then half of those were not what a bank would deem lendable.

Bottom line if you are military healthy and have $$ cash to slap on a house it is utopia, but if you are like me frail and have a hard time just walking or driving and down ill you will not be able to make it there. I would say watch some episodes of Homestead Rescue and see if that kind of rural harshness is for you. After all you will have to have a food source of some type. Water? Heat? Grid is down a lot. Some of those you see in videos of the place have had to return to getting "fried" in the south others came from a farm homestead environment to begin with. Also if you are rich and have a jet, companies etc... let me know there aare other areas that you can find safety in if you meet the 1% elite status. Those areas are here in  so AZ, but may not last. One more they keep listing is Snowflake, but that has emfs to the hilt and is only for MCS. Though if you like cold you can go off grid in areas near there. One man set up an RV a large shed an outdoor bath and conventional solar in Concho, AZ on a middle class budget, but the expenses are still hard. Not near as rough as WV though.
