Hi, Andrew,

Thanks for sending.  The Santa Barbara article was great!  I especially liked the comment by the dentist, and this one, 'Despite the eco-friendly origins of the so-called “smart meters,” not one environmental activist showed to voice support.'

I have never seen it voiced, but we should also be worried about an elite in power choosing resources for themselves, and completely denying the rest of us power and water altogether, at their whim, or setting limits on how much we can use.

Thanks for sending,
Diane

PS:  I should have added, this would be a good way to get non-ESsers to support anti-smart meter legislation.  You here may not all remember President Jimmy Carter's call for saving energy by turning one's thermostat down to 60 degrees at night while you sleep.  Opponents began saying that his admin and the Democrats, as a whole, wanted to limit the power people could use in their homes.  That idea went over so well that it was a major contributor to getting him voted out of office!
