Re: rf meters..

As far as I know, the principles of this meter are incorporated in the
normal Spectran HF V3.

Are they accepting orders for that? Last I saw it said they expected to
ship in 10 weeks.

It would be nice to have one that goes up to at least 6 GHz.

While you wait you might get a cheaper unit like the electroSmog detector.

Re: rf meters..

betty A
this is all new to me , so i dont really know what  the technical terminology means, i liked the look of it because it was digital. Basically i want one that will detect wiring , electrical sources , and radio waves , i have had to move too many times  beacuse of in hospitable  abodes, next time , i want to be able to check things out before and not after i move in.The electrosmog? will that tell me if neighbours have wi fi , or iftheir is a cell phone base near my house?. Would appreciate all and any advice

Re: rf meters..

For wiring issues you need a gaussmeter that can measure low power
frequencies:
50 or 60 Hz. Those high frequency meters start at 700 MHz (700 million
Hertz).

I have something called the electrosmog meter (not to be confused with the
detector)
which is digital and I like it. It starts at 50 million Hz. But it does
not give information
about modulation, which may be important. The ones that let you hear the
signal
(electrosmog detector) do that, but that one does not give a number.

If you can search my past posts I mention buzz sticks, AM radios, and other
meters.

Re: rf meters..

Most wi fi is 2.4 GHz = 2400 MHz. Wi Max is higher. Most cell phone stuff
is
between 900 MHz and 2.1 GHz.
