Towers indeed have broadcast patterns, which include "near lobe" and
"far lobe" radiation.
You need to test for yourself any towers you are interested in, as
generalizations are just generalizations. Not only will each tower be somewhat
unique, but your spot may be hit by radiation from more than one tower, or from
other local communications broadcasts.
The Electrosmog Detector is good for this. It lets you actually "hear"
the sound of all telecommunications radiation (up to 3 GHz) in your spot.
If you hear anything more than the soft background "shhhh," there is radiation
strong enough to cause symptoms.
