I've called a red wing shoe store. They have boots that are an the
neighborhood of 135 and silver tennnis shoes that are 126 dollars. Does anybody who buys these shoes know of any that are different than these? Cheaper than these? |

Mine are oxford-style shoes that I can wear at work. They come in either black or brown leather. They are static dissipative type 1 ("SD Type 1"). They do cost about $125 though... MArc |
I was talking with a young clerk on the phone. I went to the store
and she pointed out some cheaper ones to me and said they were also electrical hazard work shoes. She showed me some that were 63 dollars and I bought them. But no where on the box or on the shoes do they say they are electrical hazard shoes. I hope she knows what she was doing and/or talking about. They are quite comfortable though. --- In [hidden email], "Marc Martin" <marc@u...> wrote: > > I've called a red wing shoe store. On the inside of my shoes, the fine print says "SD type 1". You might want to check the fine print on your shoes, or have a look at the Red Wing website, and see if you can find out more info. Prior to getting these shoes, I was getting a shock every time I stepped out of my car and touched the door. That stopped immediately with these shoes. Marc |
I went to the website and did a product search for shoes that were
electrical hazard. It came back with 60 shoes. One were the oxford 5550. Is that the brand you have? I got the oxford 6550-2. They do not list the 6550-2 but it has the same specs as the 6550 which they do list as electrical hazard. On the inside of the shoe are the letters eh which I think is electrical hazard but not the SD type 1. --- In [hidden email], "Marc Martin" <marc@u...> wrote: > > I was talking with a young clerk on the phone. I got the oxford 6550-2. from looking at the pictures on the website, I'd say that I have the 6618: http://redwingshoes.com/shoe-zoom.cfm?style=6618 Marc |
Have you seen those "Coronatex" socks they sell at lessemf.com? I wonder if my electrical hazard work shoes will do the same thing. They say farmer connect them with a wire. Only 633 ohm resistivity. I think my work shoes were around 800 something. A lot to pay for a pair of socks that will be washed and wore out. 28 or 35 dollars depending on the size. --- In [hidden email], "Marc Martin" <marc@u...> wrote: > > > I went to the website and did a product search for shoes that were > > electrical hazard.
