re: lighting/fields?

Hi, I am wondering if anyone can tell me what types of fields I may be exposed to in my work environment. I do inspection type work on a stainless steel table with very high powered fluroescent lights about four feet above the table. I am also facing the back side of computor generated equipment and an electronic beam welder. (lots of wires) I do not feel like myself anytime I am there or for a long time afterwards. I would appreciate any input.

Be careful ! your last paragraph is probably the common sitation of many a
developing Electrosensitive ! it can creep up on you while you endure the
initial stages and then become chronic. Flourescent lights, lots of wiring close
to PC (CRT-VDU), metal table this is not going to make you bloom with good
health. Can you re-arrange your environment to get some distance from the
wiring etc also can you work on a wooden table, or perhaps cover the existing
metal one and perhaps earth it ? (be careful with earthing as you must be sure
that the earthing is verified, you could turn the table into a sort of -
transmitter, and achieve the opposite result to earthing) there is also the issue
that the metal table may well be giving you glare/reflection from the
flourescent lights, this will irritate the eyes and stimulate unwanted neurological
effect/symptoms if the lights are non high frequency and thus flicker is
perceived you will undoubtedly pick up on this with your peripheral vision via
the refelction in the table etc..

If none of the above is feasible seek to change your home environment to
reduce your exposure to E-feilds/E-mag feilds and dump anything wireless.Get
time outside as much as possible, You could also turn off as many elec circuits
in your house at night and day where possible. I have not had my lighting
circuit on for 5 yrs this action has undoubtedly benefitted me, but I have no
choice if my wife switches it on within 15mins I will know it ! (we use
ocassional earthed lamps instead, but again still keep your distance)

hope this gives you a taster -

Paul

Wow, thanks for the input. I cannot change my work environment, but I will look much more closely at my home environment. You know, I have noticed other people at work seem to become agitated in various ways when they work in that location as well. Interesting.

I have got to the point where I too can almost certainly tell when certain
people are electrically overloaded this is espescially noticeable when people
use mobiles, often just after the call if you engage them in a conversation
they will be vague and somewhat phased, you can often observe people on the
phone and their body language/expression is saying get-me-out-of here !

Unfortunately if you are ES your desire to educate others about the dangers
that they are often oblivious to can often have you branded as a fruitcake,
you become a preacher that wont be invited to the next party. Be careful in
the work place to whom you speak to about your concerns as predjudice and
ridicule are often not far behind. Of course it is not a good thing to suffer in
silence, its a devil you do/devil you dont in many cases. You can reach a
point where you need to act/change your working environment, or just leave and
take you chance else where, personally I tend to stand and fight, but I have
a good union behind me ! Once you come out it can be unpredicatble how you
will be treated. ES is surely a disability and in law you have a degree of
protection in the workplace, but you need a good medical specialist to support
you and a whole lot more. In the end it comes down to balancing your health
against your wealth, I know a balance can be achieved.

Well, there are definitely things you can do to help out your
reaction to your work environment, as has been detailed in
the past on this group. The problem is finding something
that will work for you specifically in that environment, as
there can be quite a lot of expensive trial & error finding
something that will work. (although we have one person here
who seems to solve her EMF problems by placing D batteries
or magnets on the offending equipment, and these are pretty
cheap!)
