It probably works better in a large space, glad it's worked out for you Steve

well, then, it's probably best not to use it a lot. make sure you never hurt yourself in any way. the "no pain no gain" adage is not good advice. :) take good care of yourself. my space here is pretty big. 20x40 and i used it in my condo on the balcony, so it covered a lot of territory. it was the only NIG that i kept on always. the others were used only in extreme circumstances. :) love, patricia

oh, you only want to use a negative ion generator away from where you sit, sleep... not up close. i have one about 8 feet away and another about 30 feet away. and i just turned off the closer one this morning. can you put yours on low? what kind is yours? i've owned many brands but my favorite is a simple small box with a little stick that apparently emits the negative ions... but i've had the 'sharper image' tall things and one that was a box with fans and things... very bad one. very loud and very annoying but did not seem to work as well as the little one, which just sits there, silently. love, patricia

Hi Patricia,
I actually have one of those same negative ion generators. I find if I leave it on all the time it gives me insomnia and irritates my sinuses. I only use it when it hasn't rained in a while or if I feel sick and want to clean out the air. I have a Aireox Purifier and tested it with my meter. It gives off EMFs up close but at my bed or even just a few feet away from it it doesn't register at all. I have MCS and this little unit gets rid of formaldehyde and other gases and odors. Steve

steve, i don't know about your air purifier, but the ones at the house where i live are really intensely EMFish. i use a negative ion generator to clean my air and it works very well with no EMF. i bought it many i think they're less than $150 and humble, but effective. i've used them for more than 30 years... Robert Gray, author of "The Colon Health Handbook" recommended them and he was a personal friend, so i started using them long ago. i really hate the air purifiers in the main house. sorry. i know they're expensive, but you couldn't give one to me. :(

I am sensitive. I actually have a couple of the 3 outlet Quantum plug in at home, not sure if they do anything but they haven't hurt either. On your recommendation I purchased a Furman power strip/line conditioner that I think helped. I actually have 3 now-one for my TV/DVR, one for my Computer and one for my bedroom for my air purifier. After using one on my TV and seeing how the vocals improved (the sound is almost 3D in it's spatiality on my headphones-I almost jump sometimes because it seems like someone is behind me). That sold me on the quality of these things. They are also built like a tank and reasonably priced ($90) I really want to try the Quantum Pro for my apartment but I can't get myself to shell out the $500 for something the company really can't explain very well.
I may just get another 3 prong Quantum for work, plug the power strip into it and see what happens. It's only $30 Steve

The surge protectors that are sold by Quantum Products look exactly like their commercial counterparts (e.g. whatever companies surge protectors they are using at the moment), both on the inside and outside. What they do to them they don't say, but I imagine that they "treat" them, maybe cyrogenically or magnetically, or maybe something else. Whatever it is, it does make a difference, as I once compared a the exact same power strip that I got from Quantum Product and a local hardware store, and my tolerance for the local environment was obviously different. You could have done a double-blind test on me and I'd be able to pick which was which, even though they appeared to be exactly the same.
That all said, don't expect miracles. If you are very sensitive and bothered by your current environment, one surge protector could help a little. But if you're not that sensitive, then you may not notice any difference.
