we need help in california..anyone able to help with a basic web page

hope you will consider sending this email to 10 friends or more , and ask them to do the same..we only have a week... cut and paste your name

Dear Friend

Please spend 30 minutes in looking at the facts surrounding California's Prop 37 and Vote Yes on proposition 37 responsibly.

www.CaRightToKnow.org

Think about it!! This proposition went from 2-1 in favor of, to approx 45% in favor of due to the many False and Misleading ads put out by the people behind No on prop 37 which are Monsanto (Pesticides) , Dupont Chemicals (pesticides), Syngenta (pesticides),  Dow Chemicals (Pesticides), Pepsico and Bayer to name a few (see below for funding).

Would you trust the Company who is the primary funding source behind NO on 37 (Monsanto); the same Company that produced Agent Orange, Dioxin; destroyed the Mystic River in Massachusetts through dumping of chemicals and is concealing information today, on the effect to human life by these genetically modified, virus laden plant species that we and our children will be eating?

Also, any dollar amount you can afford from $5 to $50 will help send a message to Monsanto, Dupont Chemicals, Bayer and Pepsi that their lies will not stand.

I have donated $50 and this is money I can hardly afford. If you cannot afford to donate, please pass this information on to other concerned citizens of California or friends outside of California who care about health and the safety of our children and the environment and may wish to contribute.

Also, please review the Yes on 37 site www.CaRightToKnow.org and see the many small Farmers, Doctors and Food Manufacturers; Concerned Citizens and Public Officials that DO Support the Truth which is Yes on Prop 37. Please feel free to cut and paste your own name into this email and pass on to 10 FRIENDS or more who can vote and/or contribute to the proposition 37 Cause and any other concerned citizens.

Please look at the three links below at the end of this email that support the facts that Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO's) , also known as GE's (Genetically Engineered) products, do not belong on this planet and certainly not in our food and our bodies.

Thank you
Michael J

FALSE ADVERTISING in NO on 37

Lie A-This will cost California families $400 a year
The state official analyst has said any costs for enforcement would range from 1 to 3 cents per year for each Californian
http://www.carighttoknow.org/

Lie B- The supposed Nobel Laureates who support this measure
Consider for a moment that most medical researchers need funding from the private sector and companies like Monsanto, Dupont and Bayer control much funding into medical research in many different areas, from biogenetically modified food and herbicide products, to drugs and other ingredients in our food system (ie aspartame)..It would appear disengenuous for any ethicallly competent Dr to, in good faith support such companies as Monsanto and Pepsi Co, when the safety of our Food System is involved.

Lie C-Some Ads say the FDA is against Prop 37-
Oh yes, did we mention that the Deputy Commissioner for the FDA (second in command) is an ex Vice President of Monsanto Michael Taylor .

Lie D- Allegations of Frivilous Lawsuits created
There are no "bounty hunter" provisions in Prop 37, and there is no incentive for filing lawsuits. We believe food manufacturers and grocers will comply with the law and label their products – as they do for calories and other ingredients
see http://www.carighttoknow.org/

Lie E- So, Why do newspapers support the No measure?
as the saying goes Follow the Money.  see the Companies below and think about the advertising dollars (millions)  these Firms spent and will continue to spend on newspaper ads.

google "farmers do not want to use monsanto as bugs are becoming resistant"

http://www.rodale.com/pesticide-use-and-gmo-crops

Benbrook is referring to the massive and out-of-control problem of weeds that have developed resistance to Monsanto's Roundup, the main herbicide that GE seeds have been bred to withstand. These weeds can't be killed by Roundup and are so hardy they've been known to destroy farm equipment. "They're becoming a total nightmare for chemical farmers," he says. "Some farmers are starting to abandon their fields, which have become unharvestable because of the amount of weeds."

Benbrook's study concluded that, because of the resistance to Roundup and the pending approval of 2,4-D–resistant corn, cotton, and soy varieties, the use of 2,4-D would increase by 50 percent by 2019. Even more concerning is the fact that 2,4-D could contain cancer-causing dioxin. Benbrook says that U.S. manufacturers of the pesticide have modern manufacturing procedures that control levels of dioxin, but their formulations are more expensive. If farmers turn to 2,4-D-resistant crops, they could turn to cheaper formulations of 2,4-D made in China and Turkey, countries where older manufacturing methods are used, which could mean high levels of dioxin contamination.

Monsanto already controls a significant percentage of your food supply. The former maker of Agent Orange, dioxins, PCBs and other way toxic chemicals has transformed itself into an "agricultural" business specializing in genetically modified seeds. And there is no thuggery, chicanery, legal intimidation or corporate bullying Monsanto hasn't conducted to force it's questionable science on farmers world wide. Now, as the true nature of the science and the company are becoming obvious to the general rube population, Monsanto prepares to introduce GMO sweet corn to the market. But you won't know, because Monsanto has ways to prevent labeling.

Toxins & Poisons
In 1999, front-page stories in the British press revealed Rowett Institute scientist Dr. Arpad Pusztai's explosive research findings that GE potatoes are poisonous to mammals. These potatoes were spliced with DNA from the snowdrop plant and a commonly used viral promoter, the Cauliflower Mosaic Virus (CaMv). GE snowdrop potatoes were found to be significantly different in chemical composition from regular potatoes, and when fed to lab rats, damaged their vital organs and immune systems. The damage to the rats' stomach linings apparently was a severe viral infection caused by the CaMv viral promoter apparently giving the rats a severe viral infection. Most alarming of all, the CaMv viral promoter is spliced into nearly all GE foods and crops.

Food Allergies
In 1996, a major GE food disaster was narrowly averted when Nebraska researchers learned that a Brazil nut gene spliced into soybeans could induce potentially fatal allergies in people sensitive to Brazil nuts. Animal tests of these Brazil nut-spliced soybeans had turned up negative. People with food allergies (which currently afflicts 8% of all American children), whose symptoms can range from mild unpleasantness to sudden death, may likely be harmed by exposure to foreign proteins spliced into common food products. Since humans have never before eaten most of the foreign proteins now being gene-spliced into foods, stringent pre-market safety-testing (including long-term animal feeding and volunteer human feeding studies) is necessary in order to prevent a future public health disaster.

Mandatory labeling is also necessary so that those suffering from food allergies can avoid hazardous GE foods and so that public health officials can trace allergens back to their source when GE-induced food allergies break out.
In fall 2001, public interest groups, including Friends of the Earth and the Organic Consumers Association, revealed that lab tests indicated that an illegal and likely allergenic variety of GE, Bt-spliced corn called StarLink, had been detected in Kraft Taco Bell shells, as well as many other brand name products. The StarLink controversy generated massive media coverage and resulted in the recall of hundreds of millions of dollars of food products and seeds.

Dr. Pusztai's path breaking research work unfortunately remains incomplete. Government funding was cut off and he was fired after he spoke to the media. More and more scientists around the world are warning that genetic manipulation can increase the levels of natural plant toxins or allergens in foods (or create entirely new toxins) in unexpected ways by switching on genes that produce poisons. Since regulatory agencies do not currently require the kind of thorough chemical and feeding tests that Dr. Pusztai was conducting, consumers have now become involuntary guinea pigs in a vast genetic experiment. Dr. Pusztai warns, "Think of William Tell shooting an arrow at a target. Now put a blind-fold on the man doing the shooting and that's the reality of the genetic engineer doing a gene insertion

Damage to Food Quality & Nutrition
A 1999 study by Dr. Marc Lappe published in the Journal of Medicinal Food found that concentrations of beneficial phytoestrogen compounds thought to protect against heart disease and cancer were lower in GE soybeans than in traditional strains. These and other studies, including Dr. Pusztai's, indicate that GE food will likely result in foods lower in quality and nutrition. For example, the milk from cows injected with rBGH contains higher levels of pus, bacteria, and fat.

Antibiotic Resistance
German researchers have found antibiotic resistant bacteria in the guts of bees feeding on gene-altered rapeseed (canola) plants. EU authorities are currently considering a ban on all GE foods containing antibiotic resistant marker genes

Damage to Beneficial Insects and Soil Fertility
In 1999, Cornell University researchers made a startling discovery. They found that pollen from GE Bt corn was poisonous to Monarch butterflies. The study adds to a growing body of evidence that GE crops are adversely affecting a number of beneficial insects, including ladybugs and lacewings, as well as beneficial soil microorganisms, bees, and possibly birds.

New Viruses and Pathogens
Gene-splicing will inevitably result in unanticipated outcomes and dangerous surprises that damage plants and the environment. Several years ago, researchers conducting experiments at Michigan State University found that genetically altering plants to resist viruses can cause the viruses to mutate into new, more virulent forms. Scientists in Oregon found that a GE soil microorganism, Klebsiella planticola, completely killed essential soil nutrients. Environmental Protection Agency whistle blowers issued similar warnings in 1997 protesting government approval of a GE soil bacterium called Rhizobium melitoli
