Hi. My name is Joyce. I have had electrical problems for at least 12
years now. Thank goodness I am better otherwise I wouldn't be able
to use this computer! I just started using this one as of last May.
Now you can say that I am an addict because I seem to be always on
this thing!

So, did you do anything in particular to get better? If so, what?

It was a long slow process. First of all, I am a catholic, and I did a lot of praying the rosary, all 15 decades a day, usually just using my hands because I could not touch a rosary! Okay, let's start with me being born a DES baby, that awful drug that a lot of women took to prevent miscarriage( I was almost miscarried twice!). From what I understand, this drug started the ball rolling for me. Throughout my childhood, I took a lot of antibiotics for colds and what not. This I believe brought on getting MCS and candida by the time I was in my 20's. The MCS didn't get bad until 12 years ago. With hormonal problems happening especially with having 3 girls, the MCS kept getting worse so that by the time my youngest was 3, I could not tolerate books, newspapers, fireplace smoke, perfumes, fabric softeners, and most petrochemical fabrics. I was under a doc's care which involved homeopathy. I was also going through allergy shots for different allergies. Well, this allergy doc decided to
test my tolerance for mercury. I was a dental assistant for 5 years before I quit to have kids. I used to handle mercury a lot to make amalgam to use for filling up cavities. Anyway, he applied a patch of it to put on my back, and left it there for 24 hours. Mind you, I thought this was a normal test for mercury. When I got back the next day, I was like a zombie, totally out of it. The doc took the patch off, and he was surprised that I was reacting to it so strongly! This started my electrical problems, but there was more to come. My homeopathic doc heard about what happened to me, so he treated me with homeopathic mercury for a month. Unfortunately, he went to Australia during that time, which I didn't know about. The nightmare began on my father-in-law's birthday. That was the day that I started this new treatment. The first day, I couldn't use benadryl for allergies because it only worked for 2 hours. As time progressed, I ended up not being able to be in the kitchen when the
refrigerator was on or the microwave. I lost 35 pounds within 6 months as I couldn't eat without having panic attacks. The MCS shot up so bad that my entire family could not bring books into the house. My sense of smell was so "good" that whenever anyone went anywhere and came home, I could tell immediately where they had been, and they would have to take showers, and take the clothes outside immediately. By the end of that month(March), I couldn't even turn the light on in my bedroom without my arms and legs doubling up in pain! My hubby thought that I was dying, and so did I. When the doc finally got back,he tried to correct my problem, but couldn't. All homeopathic remedies just made the electrical much worse, so I stopped seeing him , and got off of all homeopathics completely. I know some people who have our problems and cannot take homeopathics at all also. Anyway, I have been my own doctor. I ended up going through a few candida diets which didn't do well for me. I started
taking a product called Seasilver, which everyone knows about. I seem to be better with that. Also I am going through menopause now so my MCS and electrical are going away with that happening now too. Like I said, I did a lot of praying, and it seemed to work because I am getting better, and I really can't pinpoint a reason why I am better. I will get migraines once in a while, and if I have an electrical problem by "sensing" it, I get away from the area or whatever as soon as possible. I am sorry if this is so long, but thought you would like to know about me. I am 49 now.

Like you, I also got chemical sensitivities and candida following excessive
amounts of antibiotics. And like you, mercury seemed to be a factor, as I
went through the whole dental filling replacement & mercury detox. Also
like you, I lost 35 pounds (actually 40) at the worst point.

I also found some relief taking Seasilver -- I must have gone through at
least 20 bottles of that! Although there was some sort of fiasco last year
with that company, and I switched to "Sea Energy", which seems to be more
or less the same thing.

And I've read that there *are* scientific studies about prayer being
effective. Glad to hear it worked for you!

Thank you for all your answers about my ES questions. You have been very helpful.
What is the cause of ES. Is this an indication of increased blood brain permeability or is it something else.
Also could you give me a web site which has comprehensive info about ES?

Hi Nil, Like most weakness to disease, there is some suppression in the
immune system which cannot ward off out side stresses. Best remedy is to
maintain your spine and bony structures, eat well, spend two or three 10 minute

My impression is that it's a combination of toxic overload
nutritional deficiencies. However, that's at the highest
level... figuring out how which toxins and deficiencies
and how to correct them is the hard part!

Actually, by going to Google.com and typing in one of the
many names this condition is known by will give you a lot
of hits (try "Electromagnetic Sensitivity", "Electric
Sensitivity", "Electrosensitive", "EMF Sensitivity", etc.)
My general frustration with these sites is that they are
generally weak on solutions, and instead focus on symptoms
or general research that it exists at all. And I think
people with ES already *know* that it exists and what the
symptoms are, so that's not much help.

One of my friends gave me magnetic rings to wear at night to help with my health problems. I was wondering if magnets are safe to use for es people?

electrosensible people should be very carefull for everything that is
magnetic.
A few days it seems harmless, but then ist starts working.
