mirrors and metal porch roofs

angela england
Is it common to have a reaction to large mirrors (are they still made of mercury?) and metal patio covers. It seems like both trap waves of some sort and act like a reflective antenna. I already tore my direct tv dish off the roof. Too bad my neighbor just put one up. AAAArgh!

"trap waves of some sort"

This is the very thing I have been wondering latey. I have been staying(nottoday) in a house that has a large wrap around porch with a metal roof. I cannot tolerate even a transistor radio on. Everything seems amplified there.

I think with mirrors, if there is any AC magnetic field, the mirror (orany
large conductive surface) could conentrate the associated electric
field at its edges. Standing between the two ends of a wire laid out in
a loop would be the worst.

Any metal object will have effects, but usually they will disappear very
quickly with distance-- more so than cell phones or other transmitters,
and more so than with non-toroidal magnetic coils.

If you are someplace where there are no EMFs, these objects would
be fine (well, they could influence the field your body generates).

Amplified is a misleading word to use-- but EMFs can bounce aroundinside.
If you are close to a metal wall and radio, it's like having 2 radios.
If you're in a metal box it's like space is filled with boxes, each with a
radio.
Luckily the signals from the distant boxes drop off a little faster than
normal
because the reflection isn't perfect.

What you are saying is true. When you live in a metal house with two metal roofs like I do you know all about this. If you have windows the emf comes in through the windows and makes like a microwave oven. If you don't have a foundation and the metal trailer is up off the ground even blocking the windows with metal doesn't solve the problem because stuff is bouncing off the ground at an angle and coming up inside the house still. I have one room in my house where atomic clocks will not work. It stopped working once before in a really bad snow storm. But it stopped working for good in that room this past summer. The only thing that I was doing was putting up concrete blocks along the bottom of the house and making a foundation.

I also live in a metal house. Most of the receivers I have with the exception of a few that are rarely turned on are kept in another room inside a faraday cage. I use smart home technology which allows you to use infra red remotes instead of the wireless kind to change channels.
