I would think a sunlamp would fall into that category. I recall going to tanning booths before I knew I had ES and those made me feel awful! If your only reason to use the lamp is to get Vitamin D, then I would suggest using a Vitamin D supplement instead. Marc |
Are you sure, Marc? The tanning booths have UVA rays and I would be buying a UVB lamp. I believe they tell you to just use them about ten minutes at a time. I do take vitamin D3 5500 IU and my levels have increased but not enough at last test. The reason I wanted to have something more like sunshine is for the Budwig protocol. You know more about things like this than I do and I certainly wouldn't want to get anything I couldn't use. I just wanted to mention the tanning beds being UVA. Thank you.

Well, people do vary in their sensitivities, so some people may find a UVB lamp intolerable even for a few seconds, while others may not have any problem with it at all.
Also, there is a wide range of Vitamin D supplements out there, and a wide range of recommended dosages. So if you're not getting the results you want from what you are taking, you could try taking something else or increase the dosage. The other day I saw someone say that they were taking 15,000 IU of Vitamin D3 per day, and that was in line with Dr. Klinghart's recommendations for his body weight. Of course, some people have limited tolerance for Vitamin D supplements... for awhile I had an adverse reaction at anything above 800 IU per day, but over the years I've managed to get that up to 2500 UI per day. Still far short of what you're taking, and even farther short of Klinghardt's recommendations. Marc |
Thanks Marc. I guess I just need to research the UVB lamp some more and maybe by then we will have more warm sunshine days.
For a short while I took 10,000 IU vitamin D3 and that was too much. I started having worse muscle cramps than I was already having. After doing some research I found out that it uses up your magnesium. So I cut back the D3 and added more magnesium. The vitamin D helps me sleep or at least it did before my pain in head got so bad. I also understand we need to take vitamin K2 with that. What the vitamin D seems to do for me is to cause me to not be so sensitive to my IBS and allows me to sleep better. The reason I was thinking of the UVB lamp was because the Budwig protocol calls for sunshine and I am desperate to make sure I am doing everything I can to fight whatever is going on in my body. Thanks so much for your help and thanks to all who have responded to me. Still more questions to come. I don't know how to get back on this forum. I had joined two years ago and now they don't accept my password and won't send me anything to create a new one.

Do the AM battery radio test and hear it for yourself. We replaced a dimmer switch in our house which even emitted microwave level radiation when it was on at any level. We detected this with a high frequency analyzer which measures between 800 MHz to 2.4 GHz. I probably wouldn't believe it if I hadn't seen it for myself. It's when there is actual dimming taking place that it can cause symptoms. > It is my understanding that cilantro would be dangerous to eat w/o the proper entire chelating process. > I want to live long enough to try to chelate mercury through the Cutler protocol. Yes, everyone is different -- some people do great on cilantro, and some people do terrible on cilantro. But you know, some people do great on the Culter protocol, and some people do terrible with it. You just need to figure which group of people you are in, and then go with it. I think Dr. Chris Shade is a good (probably even better) alternative to Cutler these days, as I think Cutlers methods are quite old now and better things have come along since then. > What do you think of barley powder? I thought it might be better than nothing when not juicing. I personally like Barley Grass powder... it doesn't have the bad side effects of Chlorella, Spirulina, Blue Green Algea, so I don't think it interacts with mercury of other heavy metals as much.
