mastocytosis

lunagirl32002
Hi all,
I happened to read an article recently on a boy with a rare form of mastocytosis. He was
allergic to the sun, moonlight, chemicals, and other things. It got me thinking so I did
some research. The symptoms and triggers for mastocytosis are almost identical to those
of MCS (Multiple Chemical Sensitivity).

Turns out there is a doctor who already researched into the connection between MCS and
mastocystosis/mast cell disorders. There is a correlation in that it seems it is one possible
pathway to get MCS, where an exposure to an environmental toxin causes a mast cell
disorder which in turn results in MCS. I am wondering whether ES might alsopotentially be
a mast cell disorder (not all cases, but maybe some). I am not a doctor andthis is pure
speculation. Please read the thread and the research article links on my site for more info:

What does this mean? Well, if you test positive for a mast cell disorder you might be able
to get treatment that could help alleviate the symptoms. I haven't even gotten as far as
treatments in my own reading yet and don't know what they entail. But this is as much as
one of the doctors says in his article.

VERY interesting!! Please join in the discussion if you have other information/research
article links related to this.
