ES-knowledgeable MD in SF Bay Area?

carazzz

Very nice link, Deb. Thanks to your encouragement we are shopping for
a new doctor again. Our history with doctors has been disappointing
to say the least. Over the years we have seen every traditional and
alternative practitioner who was willing to see us (with no results,
no satisfying diagnosis and no relief) and we've been patronized by
doctors who refused to take our health issues seriously (saying the
symptoms were imaginary and worse, that "everyone has problems, you
just learn to live with it"). We eventually got fed up and were
limping along independently when we found this group.

I've checked out your link and it does list several practitioners
within 30 or so miles of us. We're cautiously excited at the thought
of working with an MD who might actually believe that our health
issues are real, and work with us to find solutions. Does anyone here
have any specific MD they can recommend in the San Francisco Bay Area?

Cara

For anyone who did not see Deb's original link, it is

Physicians who are members of the American Academy of Environmental
Medicine have a good chance of knowing about ES. Two of the
physicians I've seen in the past, including Dr. Rea, are members. You
can find AAEM referable physicians here:

http://www.aaem.com/referable_physicians.htm

Dr. John C. Wakefield, MD, of Saratoga, CA, was highly recommended by
the last AAEM member physician I saw. Dr. Wakefield is also a
psychiatrist, so he can also "medically certify" your sanity if needed
for some reason. I sought more than the EMF avoidance approach which
both of my previous AAEM members chiefly relied on with me (and
actually with themselves as well as they are also ES) so I'd moved on
to alternative therapies by then. With Dr. Wakefield, at the least,
you'll be seeing a doctor who is familiar with ES and MCS and will
treat you and your condition with respect and appropriate caution.

Hi Cara : ) I also live in the Bay Area and I see Eric Gordon, M.D., D.O.
(yes, he's an MD and an osteopath). He is knowledgable, kind, extremely bright
and respectful.

He knows some things about electrical sensitivity (wouldn't call him an
expert, but then who is), but is open to info about the problem and most definitely
knows it is real.
He *is* an expert in chronic fatigue immune dysfunction syndrome, mercury
poisoning, chronic pain and I think he knows a lot about fibromyalgia and lyme
disease.
He is a board certified internist and just really a great guy. People
come from all over the U.S. to see him.
His contact info:
Eric Gordon, M.D., D.O.
3471 Regional Pkwy.
Santa Rosa CA 95403
707-575-5180
This is about an hour drive from San Francisco, about 40 miles (?)

I highly, highly recommend him!
Stephanie
