hello and computer mouse problem

health.rehab
Hi all,
I'm new and have ES for probably many years but only last year realized.

I'm having probs with my computer. got a newer laptop but can't use it
without a mouse - had an old ball style, PS2 wired one but it doesn't
work with the laptop. Has anyone found one that works or is there such
thing as a USB mechanical mouse?

I wonder also if anyone knows what the difference btwn the laser &
optical mouses are & if one is safer than the other?
& how to shield.

also find the new external keyboard is more bothersome.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,
daisy

You may want to look into an infrared-red (IR) keyboard and trackball.
IR offers isolation from the laptop.

Keytronics makes a keyboard which can be shielded in 0.5 mil foil.

Shielding a mouse is not easy, your better off with a trackball
which has more room inside to shield the components, and its
stationary.

If your problem is due to ps2 conection on the old mouse, you can buy an
adaptor from ebay ps2 to usb.

Hi, Giorgio,

I am Evie15422 (Diane) from the ESENS forum you were writing a few monthsback.  I am looking for someone who is living in France to help another ESer who is also living in France.  I knew someone joined the forum last year from France, was it you?  Also would you or your wife consider speaking with this woman or emailing her, if you are from France???  Thanks, Iappreciate your time and effort.  I am not even sure you are the person from France, but with a name like Giorgio....  ;)

Thankyou again for your time,
Diane
