has anyone used this fabric?...

Patricia
http://shop.wireless-protection.org/swiss-shield-naturell-window-shielding-141-p.asp

and if you have, did it work well?
or do you have other suggestions?
thanks.

my landlord just put in a Vantage Pro2 weather system...
wireless... eek!  i was having very bad symptoms and i
thought it might have been "smart" meters, but not...
turned out the weather thing is a potent little wireless
transmitter... very near my living space.  aarghhhhhhhhh

love, patricia

Sorry to hear that!!! :/

Yes I made curtains from this fabric to cover my windows. It shields very well. It is however conductive so I would be careful with this fabric if your bed is close by as it will conduct electric fields. An alternative that's not conductive is Daylite fabric but it will block about 97% instead of 99% like Swiss Sheild supposedly does. For curtains the Swiss Shield looks nice.

The fabric will carry current just as will aluminum foil shielding also, but it's easily dissipated by connecting an alligator clip with a lead to the fabric and plugging it into the neutral on an electrical outlet (the little round hole).  It's like this which can also be bought at Radio Shack: http://www.amazon.com/Alligator-Test-Banana-Probe-Cable/dp/B007XRCUGK

I have not found this to be sufficient for me personally. My curtains are grounded, however the electric field is still there and if you are sensitive to electrical fields you can still be affected. Even earthing sheets have made me sick due to their conductivity. Even if they are grounded the currents can still travel through the body.

My canopy was custom made from this fabric. I like that it is not treated w/ dangerous chemicals and is pretty good at blocking. I have not had problems w/ it conducting. I found after it's installation that I started having dreams again and better sleep. My itching and burning stops in there too. I am trying to arrange to have the damage repaired soon and it will be about $100. That fabric is insanely expensive. I have thought about making curtains out of it if I could get the money. My trailer is metal and grounded, but there are still ways waves can get in like through the roof or door or cracks. I can not imagine there would be a way to shield a trailer.

For many they have a hard time being inside or under metal, for others like me it's great as long as it blocks. If you are one of those that does not tolerate being under metal, then making a canopy w/ this fabric would be your own personal hell. Some say grounding works others say it does not-I hear you have to find what works for you.
