[esens] General esponse from WHO on EMF

Glenn Coleman
For what its worth, I sent an email to the World Health Organization to get
a sense of what they were doing as it relates to electrical sensitivity.
The good thing is I actually got a response. The response was very generic,
but at least they read my viewpoint.

I figure any extra views we can impress into the minds of the scientists on
the WHO project, may somehow plant a seed to get some positive benefit from
their 150 million dollar research project on effects of EMF on our health.

By reading the information on their website, I sensed they were bias since
they seemed to disclaim any health problems related to EMF, while all of us
know the problem is for real.

Regards,

Glenn

Dear Glenn Coleman,

Thank you for your letter of 6 August. I apologize for not getting to you
sooner.

The issues of hypersensitivity to emf is one of many areas currently under
investigation by WHO through its EMF Project. We agree that it is a
difficult area of inquiry since exposures are varied and are alway
accompanied by other environmental factors such as mercury exposures.
Perhaps you can appreciate how difficult a dedicated study is.

There can never be a guarantee that any specific investigator has been
consciously or unconsciously influenced in his work and therefore we place
particular emphasis on that work which is published in the peer-reviewed
scientific literature. We also recognize the value of empirical
(experiential) data from individuals such as yourself.

It is our goal to reduce the uncertainties on this subjct by encouraging,
coordinating and facilitating a world-wide research effort.

Yours,

Lawrence Goldstein PhD.

Dear WHO,

I am a computer expert who at the height of my career, was forced to go
on
long-term disability due to EMF from computers. I battle everyday to
find
ways to reduce my sensitivity to EMF so I can go back to work. I spent
so
many years training for this occupation, and now cannot do it.

It is very good to see organizations like WHO doing serious
investigation
into the EMF problem. I have some concerns over possible bias on this
study. ie. Is the technology, pharmicudical industry or doctors
influencing
this study with money?

I know of many people around the world who suffer from EMF Electrical
Sensitivity, and through use of EMF protection devices, nutrition, and
lifestyle changes, have reduced their illness significantly. To me this
is
very real proof that a percentage of our population is definitely
sensitive
to EMF.

I am curious if your study includes factors like mercury poisoning,
being a
major contributor to peoples EMF sensitivity, since a majority of people

that I know with EMF sensitivity have reduced their sensitivity by
removing
amalgam fillings, and gone for long periods on mercury detoxification.

I also wonder if your study includes other medical influences like
antidepressants, which are very hard on our nervous system, and leave us

vulnerable to problems like EMF sensitivity.

One common thing I personally have noticed throughout my term with EMF
sensitivity, is that bioenergy work like Shiatsu, Pranic Healing, and
Medicine Buddha, have a significant impact on helping my body cope with
EMF
symptoms. I thought this may give some clue as to how EMF impacts our
body,
if we are able to reverse some of its effects with bioenergy work.

Another interesting thing is that many of us that suffer from EMF
sensitivity, use devices like the "Aulterra Neutralizer", which is a
simple
sticker to place on cell phone to block cell phone radiation from
penetrating body. Perhaps these protection devices should be built into

cell phones so people are not as exposed to the radiation.
