A year ago I would have said no, but now I think you might be right.
The effects on the food are probably more subtle than the effects on you
though.
If you are reacting that badly to a crock pot, I suspect it may have a
transformer in it. There is one that has a digital display which means it
has a transformer too. Check if yours makes an AM radio buzz.
I have a crock pot that seems OK to me. It also could depend
how it is wired. There will be an AC magnetic field at close range,
but if your power is clean this might be no worse than any other
electric device at similar distance.
