cooking

I had used an old set of burners for the last year as I could tolerate them quite easily. They were recently shorted out, and we bought new ones. Have used them for two days and have electrical sensitivities bad again where I feel like I am being smothered and get bad headaches again in the sinus areas and feel like I cannot breathe good. I feel like I have lockjaw and all the old symptoms I had several years ago. I have been cooking my food in the microwave for 12 years now as I don't trust the gas stove, and haven't used that for the same amount of time. I also was using a pressure cooker to cook my food which made the food taste better and is healthier for me. The burners are 600 watt and 400 watt. I had just used them half an hour ago, and just now getting rid of the headache and feel like I can breathe again.
What can be used to cook on?

Joyce - I've never heard of people reacting severely to cooking burners

a brand name and model number? I'm curious to see what this is.

It's funny -- I've been using our gas oven because I don't
trust the microwave!

It is a General Electric all black burners. It has solid black burners not the coil type of what I had. The model number is 168996. It is 120 V AC and is 60 HZ with 1550 watts. I have noticed these symptoms more today. Also, I am more sensitive to electricity when it is that time of the month. We quit using the gas stove back then because of leaks and also it was affecting my kids whom I was homeschooling at the time. They were listless and couldn't concentrate on doing their work.
I got these burners from Walmart here in California. Now I am more sensitive to this computer. It is like I am reaching my electrical limit once again.

I am assuming that when you say "burners" you are referring to an electric
element for a portable cooktop. If this is correct, based on your electrical
sensitivity, I would personally advise you to consider getting your gas stove
leaks fixed professionally and use this for all cooking needs because, as you
probably know:

-All electric element type cooktops and ovens, especially microwaves, have
significantly high electric and magnetic fields associated with them, the
levels of which exceed what many claim to be hazardous levels. (For someone
with electrical sensitivity, these fields could possibly contribute to
triggering symptoms)

-Cooking with gas is far more energy efficient than using electricity, except
for microwave ovens.

Obviously there are air quality issues with using gas for cooking, however most
of these can be resolved whereas the electric and magnetic fields associated
with the cooktop and microwave can not easily be reduced. I would strongly
advise you to, at worst, remove yourself from the vicinity of either electric
cooking devices whenever possible, which shouldn't be hard when we're talking
about the microwave but could prove to be interesting with the electric cooktop
(though you probably don't need to be near it when using a pressure cooker).
