Hello.
I'm having a problem grounding a blanket. I know. It's a little odd. It's an afghan I made my mother knit for me (bless her soul) with copper wire. I tried connecting it to a 3 prong extension cord just by wrapping the wires but it didn't seem to improve conductivity. Aaagh! SChool project. Due tomorrow. ANyone offer any advice before I electrocute myself? I know that to ground it, it should be connected to a pipe or something but that doesn't seem practical for a portable blanket. Is there a way to ground it by plugging it in? That would be most convenient. Also, for the school show I wanted to post a link to a wiki or a blog of best sources for information on EMF. Can I point people to this group? Can anyone suggest their most reliable links? any help on either issue would be of immense help. Thanks, tanya. Toronto |
Hi Tanya,
You can use this ground cord: http://www.lessemf.com/ground.html#295-3 Emil ----- Original Message ----- From: "tanya" <[hidden email]> To: <[hidden email]> Sent: Tuesday, May 06, 2008 9:44 AM Subject: [eSens] blanket ground wire and good EMF information links > Hello. > > I'm having a problem grounding a blanket. Thanks Emil! I didn't see those at the hardware store by my house. Too bad I did not see those on your site earlier. I'll find one somewhere but at least now I know what I'm looking for. I was going to post the Less EMF link in the info pamphlet on the project if that's OK. Oh no. It's still not working. I bought some alligator clips and have clipped 3 of them respectively to both the blanket and the wires protruding from the extension cord. I tried it on both the knitted-copper wire afghan and a quilt made with Ex-Static fabric. I connected the three alligator clips to the Ex-Static fabric directly (on one end and the extension cord on the other) but still no luck. Is there something obvious I'm doing wrong? tanya To: [hidden email]: [hidden email]: Tue, 6 May 2008 11:59:11 -0500Subject: Re: [eSens] blanket ground wire and good EMF information links Yes, great!Emil----- Original Message ----- From: "tanya wilson" <[hidden email]>To: <[hidden email]>Sent: Tuesday, May 06, 2008 11:46 AMSubject: RE: [eSens] blanket ground wire and good EMF information links>> Thanks Emil!> I didn't see those at the hardware store by my house. Hello Emil.
You know what, for some reason this morning the blankets are blocking the fields. The ExStatic works even without the grounding. I think I just get interference on the reader maybe from other sources. It could be because I live accross the street from power station, could be the wiring in the walls. I don't know but it's working now. I'll call for sure if I have any further problems. Thanks for the help. tanya --- In [hidden email], "Less EMF Inc" <lessemf@...> wrote: > > Hi Tanya, > > It's not exactly clear to me what you are doing. > Call if you like, and we will be happy to help you further. > > Emil > www.lessemf.com > +1-518-432-1550 > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "tanya wilson" <end-user@...> > To: <[hidden email]> > Sent: Tuesday, May 06, 2008 12:43 PM > Subject: RE: [eSens] blanket ground wire and good EMF information > > > > > > Oh no. > > > > It's still not working.
