anti-static mats

tanya wilson
Hello.
Marc mentioned he has antistatic shoes and that someone in the group
uses antistatic mats to dissipate fields. I read somewhere that they
aren't a good idea. Anyone have any opinion on them? Marc? How are your
shoes?

As mentioned earlier, I'm studying possible solutions for those e-
sensitive and those who are but don't know it yet and those that are
being affected but can't feel it. So, by the by, I'll be posting
questions about STUFF.

I am only nominally sensitive but am starting to piece together
reactions in the past that that I had attributed to other things like
mold or pollution or had just decided not to think about ever again.

My shoes with the static-dissipative soles don't make much (if any)
difference to my ES. However, they do prevent shocks from happening --
prior to the shoes, I would always get shocks when I got out of my
car and touched the outside of the car. With the shoes, this never
happens.

One way to prevent that kind of shock is to hold on to a metal part of the
car as you get out.

Are the shoes one the web?

I purchase them at a local Red Wing shoes store, but here are
the shoes I'm wearing:

Thanks!
This is interesting to note. I don't think I get shocks that much.
Maybe, Marc, you have a super power. Mayb ES is a super power.
Someone posted much earlier a query regarding ES sufferers and
incidents of cancer. Does anyone know if E sensitive types are less
prone to cancers associated with EMF?

Regarding antistatic mats: So, they don't work to alleviate ES
symptoms. What does besides blocking the field? I read somewhere that
you should shower (for other reasons too) or putting your feet on the
grass or something will help.

Actually, the shocks I was getting was due to the EMF protection
devices I was using from Quantum Products. I contacted the
manufacturer, and they never heard of such a reaction (typical
response). However, these devices have been very helpful
for reducing my symptoms from EMF (I wouldn't have been able
to return to my job without them).

I've found that eating certain types of food (mineral content?
antioxidant content? fat content?), taking certain types of
supplements (usually minerals, antioxidants or essential fatty acids),
and using certain types of EMF protection devices (which
seem to alter detoxification rates) have all been
helpful to me. Detoxing has proven to be a longterm cure for some
people, although people with ES may be so sensitive to
common detox methods that they could be dangerous or
make things worse (I've tried many types of detoxification
methods, but only the most benign methods are things I can
live with).

Rant alert:

You know, it's frustrating that I go to a naturopath for orthomolecular therapy which is basically about stabilizing your immune system through diet and even they don't acknowledge the EMF factor. These are people who have experienced a lifetime of marginalization in their field and still they stare blankly when I mention symptoms.

I'll see if I can optimize the regime they give me.

Thanks Marc!

One day...
