As I said previously I am building an EMF safe home... Good shielding fabrics are extremely expensive, say 30 Euro per sq. meter, so I was thinking of using aluminum foil or wire net. But seems that they know why they charge so much, I am theoretically totally confused as I found out that aluminum foil makes very low shielding effect against RF, metal wire net with only 1 mm windows makes even less than aluminum foil (i.e... almost nothing), while the fabrics do more or less what the manufacturer claims. So it's a kind of a high tech stuff?!
Any explanation why aluminum and wire mesh doesn't meet theoretical expectations? Charles? Drasko [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |

Dear Drasko, Could you tell me a little about how you are building the ES safe house? I may have missed previous info. What materials are you using, and what kind of electrical paramaters? Thank you. Thank you for your interest, John!
I am in the issue for years, but it could have been taht \i am missing something! Generally I use the equipment available through Aaronia from Germany = www.electrosmog.de ... I have their meters and the (expensive) shielding fabrics. I am still in the phase of experimentng. For example, I have now proven that concrete walls give no more than 1 dB per centimeter (at say 1 GHz range).. Also I have found out that aluminum foil is ticky, as I mentioned. I am now going to check the effects of metalic foil for windows (UV foil). I have to try everything on, as much of the theory proves not so practical.... Please suggest what particularly I could have been missing, any suggestion might have been of a great help! Hello Drasko,
- concrete walls give no more than 1 dB per centimeter That is chinese to me. We always talk about uW/m2. Please read your chart. I do not know what *butterscotch* has been added to your concrete, but I measure a lot of high frequency radiation through concrete. Especiallay from cordless home telephones according the DECT principle. Aluminium is not so good, because its reflection is too great inside . Better is an absorbing material. See my website www.milieuziektes.nl and click on the english flag. I have also mentioned solutions for windows. PS. this Yahoo groups is very, extremely difficult when you have to change your e-mail address. I have changed from provider, from cable to ADSL. I have even made new account and new Yahoo ID's, but Yahoo refuses flatly to accept the other addresses. In the account info, they are verified, and everything seems ok, but nevertheless, not accepted. This one I sent via the Yahoo page!
