air conditioner

yildiz-2
Hi all

I have not been so well lately so I was away from the list.I hope you are all doing fine.I have a problem that I need to take your opinion on. I am planning to get an air conditioner for my bed room. I am wondering if there are things that I need to be careful while selecting a brand and technology as far as electromagnetic radiation problems are concerned.I have two options at this point. One is plasmacluster technology of Sharp and the other is classical technology with filters. I am inclined to get the Sharp one as it is advertised as best mite, bacteria and mold remover but I am not sure if this technology will add more magnetic pollution to my bed room.Is one of these better than the other or does it not matter? Are there any other things I need to take into consideration. It is said that some compressors work with AC and some with DC. Does that matter? Is it better to get a simpler one or would it be fine to get one with most advanced technology? Are there any other points that I need to be careful about wiring or other issues?Would movable ones will be much better than the split wall types? They don't seem to do as good cleaning as wall ones do,though.
I am very sensitive to Electro magnetic radiation so any advises will be highly appreciated.
Thanks.

Nil

Hi Yildz,

I don't know if this would be any help to you, but what we've done in
the past when ac wasn't available, and it was cooking at night, get a
hand towel, or maybe even a bath towel, get it good and damp, not
soaking, you don't want to get soggy, lay it over you and your
bedsheet. It acts as a personal swamp cooler, evaporating off and
cooling you at the same time.

It worked well with just the hand towel actually, allowing sleep.

Another thing, I haven't done, but have read of people living in the
desert doing;
Hang a towel, or maybe some colorfast curtain or other fabric over
your curtain rod. Attach a strip of fabric from that down into a
bowl of water on the sill, or floor, this will act like a wick, also
doing the swamp cooler effect.

No electricity involved.
