adrenal burnout

Patricia
due to all the stress in our modern world,
adrenal fatigue is an important thing to look at.
this page goes deeply into the well.
given all the fear and terror we are subjected to
in the news on almost a daily basis, i wouldn't be
surprised if many, most or all of us were suffering
from some degree of adrenal fatigue.

Re: adrenal burnout

Thanks Patricia... I've been studying Dr. Wilson's work for a while now, and his website is an excellent resource. That's what lead me to hair analysis with ARL to look at underlying imbalances... Addressing those has greatly improved my health and well-being.

Lizzie has kindly showed me that the other part of the equation is that the thyroid and adrenals work together. ARL only recommended an adrenal supplement from my hair analysis, and I found that was causing me great fatigue surprisingly. I tested my thyroid again with morning temps and throughout the day and found my temps are below normal throughout the day, not just in the morning. Temps should be 97.8 - 98.2 in the morning...

Once I started taking both the thyroid and the adrenal cortex, my body clicked in gear, and I've found a greater clarity of mind, better energy, and a number of improvements that weren't expected.  These can be powerful supplements, so it's not recommended to try them without determining if you might have a deficiency. Check to see if you are manifesting thyroid/adrenal symptoms as well to confirm. I had doctors testing my thyroid and adrenals thoroughly, and nothing was found, but yet I still exhibited thyroid/adrenal symptoms. Also, I found it best to start with low doses until you determine what's best for your body. I found that the normal dose of thyroid (one capsule) kept me up at night, so half a cap works better for me for instance.

Here's how I confirmed my adrenals are below normal (from the blood pressure and iris home tests):

Here's the Barnes method for testing thyroid. I found with digital thermometers, 5 minutes of warming was enough to get consistent readings, but taking my temps without warming yielded inconsistent results. I also took my temps orally, as I found the armpit was less consistent as well. The recommendation is to take it under the arm though. Taking my temp throughout the day was revealing, in that I found that my temp didn't reach normal levels (98.6) until way late at night, showing the strain on my thyroid. That's what worked for me...

Some folks say a regular digital thermometer is accurate enough for thyroid testing, but I prefer a digital basal thermometer that's accurate to 1/10th of a degree. Most thermometers are accurate to 2/10ths of a degree at best...

I've tried other brands out there, but I've found (as others here have as well) that Nutri-Med glandulars work better.

That's been my experience so far... ES is quite an adventure, huh! :-)
