Why is Xfinity wifi harming people?

This is a very interesting article. I can say that almost certainly xfinity wifi routers hurt me (might be the reason I've become emf sensitive since I've lived in condos for the past 20+ years).

! I think someone should file a class action law suit against Comcast for turning you and your neighbors homes into wifi Hotspot pretty much against your will. It really doesn't matter much if you go into the settings and opt out of the Hotspot on your own account because there is still a hidden "security" network broadcasting (which they will deny). I'm not the only one who has found out about the hidden security broadcast signal. The internet is awash with IT professionals complaining about it for other reasons. In addition anyone who happens to use your Hotspot socks away your internet speed. So in effect your paying Comcast to dose you with this non ionizing radiation (which we really don't know for sure is not harmful) and such your speed away.

I've always used my own modems with Xfinity/Comcast, so never had to worry about this wi-fi issue (as none of them ever had wi-fi to start with).

I will note that at the beginning of the year, I did a big trade study with a variety (12?) of Xfinity compatible modems, and found the LinkSys CM3008 to be the most tolerable of the ones I tried.  As even the ones without wi-fi can radiate a lot of junk... just put an AM radio next to one and see for yourself.  This particular modem caused the least amount of AM radio interference, and also subjectively felt the best to me.  And I've used it all this year.

Thanks for the suggestion! The house I live in they use voice over Internet so they need a a router with a phone Jack. Do you have any suggestions for one of those?

I think I only tried one modem that also had a phone jack, and it was nasty from an EMF standpoint.

My router is a separate unit, only with ethernet input & outputs.

There are also standalone ethernet / phone interfaces, like the box that Vonage offers, although I've never dealt with that.  We still have the rare / traditional / vintage landline service from the phone company.
