If this has been discussed here on ES before I apologize for the repeat!
I believe I know what one of the new smart meters looks like, the ones with digital readouts. Over the weekend I was watching a video of a couple who are experiencing EMS. The couple said that their electric meter had been changed to a smart meter, although I don't believe they used the term smart meter but that's what they were referring to. They described their "smart meter" as having dials. The couple questioned someone else about their "smart meter" because it had the dials or gauges. The person they questioned said that the electric companies can add a device to their existing analog meter and it becomes a smart meter. Is that what's called a stealth meter? How can I tell if my electric analog meter has been altered so that it's now a stealth or smart meter?
Peacefulness,
Kay Today is a good day for a good day! |
You can check it for emissions with an RF meter such as

An RF analyzer will tell you if your meter is wireless. Some digital smart meters inject the RF into the household wiring (power line communication) instead of broadcasting RF from the meter itself. Both RF and PLC digital meters are causing ES symptoms across the nation.
There is a RF module that some gas companies are putting on their gas meters which looks identical to the old non-transmitting meters, and one will be unable to tell if it's an RF transmitter or not without an RF analyzer. Some electric companies are not changing out the analog meters, but instead are connecting the meter to small, usually greyish colored box and attaching it to the house near the electric meter - this device is an RF transceiver. I was asked to check out the meters at a house where the occupants were complaining of sudden onset tinnitus, headaches, and dizziness. The electric meter appeared to be a safe analog, non-digital meter however, the new little box next to it was pounding out strong RF pulses every second. Kay, try this website about identifying stealth smart meters without an RF analyzer: http://www.eiwellspring.org/smartmeter/StealthMeters.htm Date: Mon, 5 Oct 2015 06:19:57 -0700 From: [hidden email] To: [hidden email] Subject: [ES] When Is A Smart Not A Smart Meter or Vis Versa?
