WIFI Internet Providers

Susan

I'm moving and have to get a WIFI Internet Provider.

I know this is very individual but I have the choice of
Cable, Copper or Fiber.  Does anyone know which of
these might be better for electromagnetic sensitivities,
and if you know of a particular company that works
better than others.  I'm in Florida.

Thanks,
Susan

Fiber without wire backbone (power cables) is the best hands down in terms of performance and lack of emissions from the fiber and lack of ground current issues. Alas, most fiber systems do have a copper backbone and at that point I'd vote for cable.

The ideal cable hookup to the home would have the cable receiver in a shielded enclosure with a separate, filtered power circuit, preferably well away from living areas such as in the garage.  Voice line filtered via Genisco or RFIcorp military grade phone line filters, ethernet in EMT conduit to the points of use in the house.

I would say cable if it's available to you, but then only if they will let you use you own cable modem that does not have wifi in it like:https://www.amazon.com/Linksys-Certified-Compatible-Providers-DPC3008-CC/dp/B006IJHK96/ref=dp_ob_title_ce

Some companies will allow you your own. If not and you are where you can not get landline or use your own stuff, then what I did was build a phone internet box full of the offending wireless garbage and put it out and away. I posted here when I was trying to figure it out. I never got around to putting the video here and I will soon I hope.  I have the mifi and phone wired to the house w/ wired remote shut off. The mifi turns off when I pull the USB out. The wifi on the internet unit out there, does not work as it shuts off when the internet transmits through the USB. Not perfect but it works for me who does really bad w/ any wifi even weak ones. The problem is a lot of planning, you have to have a long yard for distance and getting someone to build the box and set up. Then cost Look about 1K for the box not counting electronics or service. Technomadia has resources through their mobile internet access to get plans. So far so good.

Really push the cable to use your own box that you buy.
