Vehicle Radar

All cars by 2020 will be emitting radar frequencies:
https://www.forbes.com/sites/jimgorzelany/2016/10/25/auto-braking-systems-are-being-confounded-by-car-washes/#7a3acb3b2784

Craziest part: "Some systems remain active even when the vehicle is turned off."

That hardly makes sense..? It will be emitting radar frequencies when completely off?.. Walking in a parking lot full of cars will result in a huge amount of radar EMF if this is the case.

Kids walking by the bumper of a car will get radar beam straight to their head.

Am I the only one noticing this?.. Seems nobody is saying anything.. could be worse than 3g? I don't know, I never stood in front of one of these radar equipped cars yet to see what happens.

reason for all this:
"U.S. traffic deaths jumped 8 percent in the first nine months of 2016, following a spike in 2015 when road deaths had their highest full-year increase since 1966. In 2015, total U.S. traffic crashes rose by 4 percent to 6.3 million."

Likely people are using their cell phones while driving cause this spike in crashes.

Yeah doesn't matter how well you can multi task, that cell radiation going to your head in a vehicle that's already made of metal is a dangerous combination. Just a second of a mistake and you're out. Which is why I don't drive, I can't handle it. I'm a walker and sometimes I take the bus if need be. I have other options but their so expensive that I don't normally consider them.

It's one of my biggest issues, we live in a very walker unfriendly world. I can go long distances every day but getting to some areas is like an obstacle course and often I'm google maps just wondering how I'm gonna get past this road made for the big, obnoxious, environment polluting machines next. Some areas I haven't quite found the way to get through yet because of highways, highways, and more highways. We should have far more paths connecting different areas and it's very simple to make too for people but in a world where people generally moan and groan if you even park too far away from a store in a parking lot I can't see it being a popular move to make.

Major highways are littered with towers, every 100 meters or less.
Smaller roads are much better.  I can drive just fine, but I don't know what will happen when every one other car has radar bouncing all over the place including in my car.

There are two technologies, lidar and millimeter wave.  Only very few cars use lidar, which is just laser.  The rest are millimeter wave.  The blind spot light you see on some cars also likely uses millimeter wave, so when you will be in anybody's blind spot, you're getting radared.

Having a police car behind me always made me unusually anxious, and now I realize it's likely their radar.
I've had a radar detector for a few years and I know that they keep their radar on all the time.. even after they pull somebody over.  I would pass by a cop car, and the officer is out of the car talking to the driver in front, and his radar is still on.  He's radiating himself as well.  They don't even know..

But then... nobody knows, everyone is using this technology like it's drinking water.

Man, I hate that stuff so much!  Incredible head pain just being briefly around one of these vehicles on the road!  There was absolutely no mistaking what it was - where we were wouldn't have done that.

It's also bad for birds:

Given that almost all of the companies and people advocating these systems claim to be scientists and environmentalists, you'd think they would notice (and care).

Very interesting, yesterday I was walking in the middle of a street and heard a car turned into the street.
Started going to the side to get out of the way with my back towards the vehicle. When it got within 10-20 meters(by sound it sounded very close), I got pain in my head on the right side..  Sure enough, it was a Nissan Murano AWD with colission detection.. I didn't know what to expect around these cars,.. this is the first time I am directly in front walking at very close range.

It was only for a short second or less, and as soon as I got out of it's path, didn't feel anything any more.  It felt like it detected me in the way and amplified the beam or something.. Although I'd expect the output to be constant.
