Hello everyone
My topic most likely seems very mundane to most of you but is currently causing me real confusion.
I have been using vitamin B12 sublingually 1000iu per day for about the last 5 years - I always used methylcobalamin and always got it from Prohealth.
Last couple of months - off and on - I have found that I have been getting blood blisters under my tongue - always correlating with the site where I was taking the B12 even when I tried moving the little tablet around - so I would stop taking it for a while and then start again and when I started again the little blood blisters would come back. Prohealth have advised me to stop taking the supp.
so I have been looking around at a replacement - looking at sprays [but some say these aren't sufficiently stable to deliver an efficient amount of B12 - any thoughts on that one anyone????]
and then I detoured to a very long set of posts on Phoenix rising - the ME/CFS site - where they were saying that methylcobalamin mobilises mercury into the brain and that if you have a high body burden of mercury [which I have] you shouldn't be using it - there was a lot of debate between the methyl version of B12 and the hydroxocobalamin version.
I have found B12 to be very beneficial to me in terms of alertness and energy so want to continue taking it but would be very grateful if anyone could advise re the right type for someone with mercury issues and a brand they would recommend -
many thanks
Steph
