USB Separators (for mouse/keyboard)

EMF_Crazy
I've been searching and reading through this forum for quite some time now.

I know the subject matter of separators have been discussed and perhaps solutions given.
but any Youtube videos or links either are private or don't exist anymore.

Is there an affordable USB separator on the market?  Like a fiberoptic buffer?
In leu of not being able to find an affordable IR Mouse solution, I need a way to truly separate the mouse from the power if that is possible.

I have additionally purchased a ball mouse, but EF still travels up the cord.

I live in the North, Midwest US.  I am continuing to work from home indefinately.
My current place of residence should really be completely rewired, but that isn't going to happen anytime soon. The only outlets that have third prong earth ground are in the Utility, Kitchen, and Bathroom.

My Laptop (which is in an adjacent room), and my monitors are running off a surge protector to extension cord that runs down stairs to an outlet that I thought originally had earth ground, but a family member had only changed the outlet sockets back in the day.

Still have to get an electrician over to see if I can get at least one outlet earth grounded.

Any links and info for separators would be greatly appreciated!

I use a powered USB hub to "separate" the power in the PC from the mouse.  StarTech makes a 4 port and 7 port version.

Although for me the key to a tolerable mouse is to use a PS/2 mechanical ball mouse.  With a PS/2 to USB adapter.

Here is the StarTech USB hub I'm referring to:

  https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000T9S4CI/

You can use this with or without the external power supply.

Even without the external power supply, it seems to clean up the dirty power coming in from a laptop I have.

With the external power supply, it uses that instead the power coming in from the laptop.

One could get even fancier and use a medical power supply instead of the power supply that comes with it, but I found the one that came with it to be fine.

Thanks Marc,
I will give that Startech a try and see if it helps things out.
Every little bit helps.
