Turns out my mattress had coils! just sold it. question

Lynnezhu
What kind of meter would show any electrical activity from mattress coils?  My gaussmeter showed nothing...nor of course did any of my other meters.

I think this was problem.  I knew about box springs but not implicit coils..(I did not know mattress had coils--I purchased it used without descriptions.)  all my electricity turned off in vicinity (half the house) and sleeping under canopy.  Under canopy it registers 00.0 on the HF 35C meter (outside of canopy it registers 00.1)  canary wireless registers nothing under canopy--one weak signal outside of canopy.

I wear blue blocking glasses when using computer always and avoid caffeine after breakfast.  I think it is the build up from the day that is the main problem...not what is going on at night.  But I have to pass through a high voltage electrical area I cannot turn off, on the way to the bathroom.  (wires going to my neighbor--unaffected by my fuse box)

but I would be interested in other meters or devices which could measure such stuff.  Do body voltage meters have any use?  I read that they could read zero if you are grounded and thus perhaps be useless.  tnx.

My Meter shows a reading at certain spots in the mattress. If yours isn't showing anything that means it probably is not an issue.
I want to buy a new mattress but I'm afraid because I have MCS and have chemical allergies.
Finding an organic spring mattress is easy but finding one without springs that I won't be allergic to is difficult. If a latex bed smells like latex it would be a problem.

Patricia
you might want to look into organic cotton futons.
then you have no metal and no chemicals.
of course, cotton has its own unique odor but it
dissipates fairly quickly.
and let me share with you what i did in the past...
i purchased two high quality latex mattresses...
purchased as two sheets of 'foam', from an
upholstery store, put them in an airtight mattress
cover and then used either (alternately) cotton
or wool or sheepskin mattress covers.  that
arrangement served me well for many years.
presently, i am using a very well aired-out air
bed with cotton and wool toppings on it - and
that too works well.  but if you buy an air
mattress new, you might want to air it out for
a while before you use it.  mine is so old that
it doesn't have one of those electric pumps in
it... thank goodness.  but it doesn't seem to
lose air... thank goodness.  :)
love, patricia
