Tower with round dishes; safe distance?

R. Ticle
Hi everyone,

There's a property in the country I'm thinking of living and working on forseveral or more months this summer.  When I went there last time, I couldn't pick up any radio frequency radiation at all, in the normal ranges (800 MHz to 6 GHz) using my Gigahertz Solutions meters.

Unfortunately, the next time I visited, I noticed (as my friend and I droveaway), a tower not far from the property - maybe five, six, seven minutes away, going at an average speed of driving.

I didn't notice any normal, vertical rectangular cell phone antennas on, but rather round dishes.  Not a lot, but more than just one or two.  I didn't have my meters with this time.  This tower was just by itself on theside of the road.

My friend said that one of the dishes points in the direction of the property - though she said the tower is more up on a hill, and the property is sort of in a valley.

Would these be "hertzian repeater" dishes on the tower?

If I can't measure RF in the normal frequencies on the property, should I be concerned about staying there with the proximity of these dishes? I'm notthe sort who immediately reacts to something, so I use the meters I have.

Any thoughts you have are much appreciated.  Thanks everyone,

R.
