Shivana,
I called and discussed my plight. I spoke to "Principal Ombudsman of Consumer Affairs" at the utility co. He offered the analog meter that is a prepaid meter that 100K people are using. He put a rush on it & I had the smart meter replaced within a couple of days! I would think it would be offered many places because of economic times. People not paying their bills or having trouble so on & so forth. Since you have to prepay it utility co wins! They get the money up front. They probably prefer this program as a matter of fact! 100K is a lot of people. I advise everyone to check this option out with their local utility! I am using about $6.00 per day so times 30 is $180 per month. Well my utility co has been charging about $250 per month. So this meter is in fact costing me less to used apparantly. Go figure! I'm happy! And I feel tons better! Better? Well, honestly this meter is not killing me if truth be told! Many folks would like to acccomplish this. Shivani [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |

They simply say they have no evidence of these things being harmful. Like with the cell phones and towers, they say you are nuts. Please explain a little more in detail how you persuaded the ombudsman to help you. And where are you located? Which utility company? This is very encouraging news. Thanks for giving us hope. Marji |
Hi Marji!!
I told the ombudsman that I was electrically hypersensitive & was reacting adversly to the meter. I told him I was injurred by mold in a work building & had immune & nervous system damage. In a nutshell that is what I said. To the point & brief. He just said Oh so there are health issues before that you were dealing with. I think he wanted to make sure that it wasn't because of the meter. He seemed to be open about it. He said that he had gotten another call. A woman had the meter by her bed & was reacting so she was going to move the bed a try that. I think that they probably are aware of what's going on in Cali with them being banned in 2 towns & honestly I think they are starting to get calls. No they won't admit they are a problem but don't seem to deny that there could be a reaction to it. I could have just been lucky to get an open guy! Don't know but luckily they did offer the analog prepay meter. I think they like it because they get their money up front. What's not to like about that with Big Business. Dealing with all the people the utility co has that have trouble paying their bills; this is a solution! I am in Mesa Arizona. SRP is the utility co! If anyone lives here I can forward the no of contact. I hope this can help you Marji! I would think that this type of meter would be offered just about anywhere because utility cos always have problems a number of people who cannot or do not pay their bills. A pre pay system works! Let me know what you find out! We must always have hope. Without it we have nothing! :o) Loni --- On Tue, 10/19/10, Marjij <[hidden email]> wrote: From: Marjij <[hidden email]> Subject: [eSens] Re: Smart Meter versus Analog Meter To: [hidden email] Date: Tuesday, October 19, 2010, 10:48 AM > I called and discussed my plight.
