Smart Meter - no opt out

PickPinkFlowers
I phoned our electric provider (the city provides our power) to get my SM removed minutes after it was installed.  I was told that the State of Texas Public Utilities Commission had not provided an opt out and therefore there is none.....unless I want to get my electricity turned off completely. I was also told that IF the State PUC does
provide an opt out, the power companies do not have to honor it.
When you call, you are treated dismissively, of course.
I know of one elderly couple in TX with medical problems who were so badly affected by the SM that they bought an analog meter, had it installed, and filled out the "legal" paperwork that came with it that supposedly makes installing it acceptable. They also had letters from their doctors.  Oncor turned off their electricity, will not restore it, and they have been without power for almost a month now.
The tv stations are ignoring the SM situation. There are commercials running on tv showing seniors so happy they have the new SM's.
You can feel the SM.  I suspect there are numbers of people who are experiencing symptoms who do not relate them to the SM.  Also, lots of people do not even know they have a SM.  When they were installed in my area, there was no notice.  It was done during the day when few people are home.  Because I am primarily housebound because of illness, I was here.
For the time being, shielding is the only solution. I am going to try cheap stuff first.  You can spend a fortune.  I was quoted almost one thousand dollars to shield two windows 36 x 48.  MaryJo

Hi, Haggis, Kathy, Amanda, (and All),

Sorry I haven't been taking part in the forum for a long time, since my father has been requiring almost constant care.  But, as a result of his being in the hospital, I got to see some public tv.  One show I saw was a technology conference.  Eye opening to say the least (mostly negatively), but I saw something which I thought might help some of us.  There was a company which makes mobile solar panels there describing their products.  The name of the company was GOAL ZERO.  The website appears to be:

www.goalzero.com

I don't know how ES friendly their generators are, but they reviewed one which, I think they said cost around $500., which was said to be large enough to power a small house or RV, if I understood correctly.  Plus you could add to it extra panels and more batteries to store more energy for extra needs.  These solar panels are completely portable, if you need to take them with you as you travel or move.  They fold up like a notebook.  Of course, there are fixed solar panels which you can use, too.  Just saying these are attractive to me, since I could take them camping and on trips, etc.

I have figured that with bottled water and solar, I could totally live in the middle of nowhere.  Add wood stove or propane gas for heat, a well for water, and you are in off-grid heaven!  ;)  As it stands now, I have to carry water, since the municipal water authority here is using new chemicals to treat the water, and I do not tolerate them!  We had the chance to buy 5 acres awhile back in the middle of nowhere (very cheap), but wanted to try camping there, first, before deciding to build.  This would have worked great for such a place!  So far, I am tolerating life fine, even with a smart meter, but it is nice to know you have a fail-safe option, in case life again throws lemons your way.  ;)

Regarding how I have been handling going to docs and hospitals, Kathy.....  I take my calcium and pantethine together with breakie.  Between breakie and lunch, I take taurine and manganese (only 2 or 3X a week; you don't want to overdo manganese).  I also take daily D3, B12, multi vit/min, molybdenum twice a week, and a full spectrum electrolyte blend when I feel frazzled (which has been more often lately).  I also have some organic potato chips lately to munch on, since my sodium channels also need extra salt these days.  Lots of good quality drinking water, too.  I haven't been taking hydrogen capsules lately, but am sending for some more now, since my pH is getting off-kilter with all the running around/ wireless and digital frequencies lately.  Hydrogen capsules are an easy way to raise pH when you are running around add day.

What I do is not what all here need to do, unfortunately.  However, what I do will likely help you if you suffer from calcium and sodium ion-channel leaking [calcium, pantethine, extra salt, manganese, and taurine].  The other supps I take will help more broadly, so I recommend those as ones to try for anyone, if you haven't yet.

Also, Amanda!  Welcome to the group!  (Also welcome other newbies!)  I was particularly interested in your "ion-pumping" therapy!  Sounds good for people like me, who have ion-channel defects.  Can you share more on that therapy?  Thanks so much--it sounds very promising, even though I have not lately been having problems, since finding other treatments and supplements which work well for me.

Also, on the subject of starvation diets--that is also not a way to go for me.  I was on a starvation diet that ended me up here with ES and MCS, called celiac disease.  My body still retains all the fats it can get a hold of, even tho my gut has been healed for about a decade.  I was deficient in many, many nutrients back then.

Bless you All,
Diane
