Shielding WIFI

I am in the process of choosing an apt. to move to. I found an area with 5 apartment complexes that does not have any close towers/antennas. 2 of the complexes have high magnetic EMF, so I'm focusing on the other 3. ( I can't afford to rent a house.) I found an apartment which does not share a wall with anyone who has WIFI or DECT. However, some of the other neighbors in the building have it. The readings in the apartment are good with my $200. RF meter. I've usually done OK in places that this meter says are OK. Do you think I need to be concerned about the other neighbors? One is one floor down one apartment over. I also am aware someone could move in and put in WIFI or DECT. My plan then is to just live out of one room or put up shielding. Anyone know a good way to shield? I have MCS, so I can't tolerate the black paint or anything that smells.

Be great if you could move in & try for a little before you sign a lease. If you do sign a lease can you sign a 6 mos?  You just never know when youare that close to so many other people. Be careful my friend. Loni

This happened to an ES freind of mine here in the UK he live reasonably
happily in a flat similar configuration to what you describe but the worst
happed when a neighbour moved in came the technofreaks with all manner of
wireless devices, he abandoned his flat and now rents out in the sticks
somewhere. For me it would be a complete nono to live in a flat there are to many
chances for your apparent luck to change. With my experience with the
Plasma TV data leakage in my vicinity, if this were to happen in a flat then
you would be living in hell.

I'd be in agreement with Paul on this one. The population of apartments tends to be transient by their very nature, and conditions which might be fineone month could deteriorate over the following months if there are changesof tenant with EMF emitting equipment. So far as I know WIFI travels and walls offer little barrier unless they are shielded, plus if you think aboutit, you are going to be dealing with the electrics for a block of apartments in one building - i'm talking scale here, compared to the exposure to electrics you would have if you were living in a smallish detached house. To avoid further build up you want to go for avoidance as much as possible andI don't think you are going to get that in an apt building. Please feel free to contradict me out there if I am wrong on this.

Of course, one may want to live in a certain part of town where apartments
are the only affordable option.

One thing to look out for is a house which has some sort of standalone
"apartment" (small house) in the back yard, preferably in an area where
the neighboring houses are fairly far apart.
