Sheilding Paint/Need Help

Loni Rosser

I really need to block this 4G LTE somehow.

My thoughts are using 3 coats of the Y sheild paint on ceiling and two back walls in the main living area. Grounding the paint with wrapped wire to grounding rod outside.

Would that cut it down?  Would it cause more problems?

Does anyone know how the carbon paint works exactly?

3 Coats is about 53 db I think.  Loni

If you use 3 coats I bet the field will be dominated by areas
where it cracks or gaps you missed.  And then it will
reflect around in side.  Do you know what the field strength
is and how low it needs to be?  50dB is a tall order.
Look into a professional screen room, faraday cage,
or screening tent.  Also, try for a few days a ketogenic diet,
like Atkins, lots of coconut fat and vitamin E.

Loni,

I'm faced with doing some massive shielding against several close-proximity smart meters (if I can't keep them from being installed) in about 6-12 months.

It is my understanding that you probably won't know the effectiveness until you apply the paint, but with the way RF bounces around you may just be exposing yourself multiple times to the same source.  I was told by a consultant (out of state for me) that extensive measurements need to be taken before, during, and after to make sure the blocking-job is effective.

It is my understanding that the Y-shield paint is both reflective and absorbent.

Of course I'm still early in the learning curve and am very interested in comments from the more experienced members.

My biggest concern, though, is how to shield the windows without breaking the seal on the double-panes.

Jim
