another topic, about tracking wild animals with all sort of devices has been proven in some case to shorten their lives etc. I dont find the article atm, but here is something about tracking with SMS....
Even taking pictures can create damage to wildlife. For instance poachers in African Safari parcs can check geolocations of tourists photos/selfies, to later hunt down the animals.
Also, in India, the very endangered great Indian bustard wont mate if there are people/tourists around taking pics, so photos are banned on this particular location during breeding season. Many animals feel stressed being stared at/photographed. (Imagine if tourists would come to your backyards and taking photos of you).
And photos of chimps can have a harmful effect as they are so "cute" and this triggers a higher demand for baby chimp pets and illegal trafficking and killing their parents to catch them.
