Loni,
Someone sent this. I'm still learning.
Fiber optic cables do not emit RF as
the signal is converted into photons. However, if the cable has metal,
then the cable can pick up signals and emit them. This would not be
likely to be a high field.
So as long as the cable for the fiber
optic signal is not picking up signals and then a wired router connection is
used at the end of the line there should be little RF from a fiber optic
system.
I have not been able to find much
information on satellite RF levels.
Another thing to check, is that many
TV companies are now supplying RF converter boxes with their systems. You
will want to make sure that you are not given one of these. Insist that
all connections are wired. There may be a charge to set up wired
connections to multiple sites in your home, but the money spent will be well
worth it.
When I told our fiber optic
technician that I wanted all wired connections because I cannot sleep around
wireless he said he hears that from many of his costumers and was very
accommodating.
