Roku 3 with voice search

Patsy
Can anyone tell me if a Roku 3 Streaming Media Player with voice search would be harmful to an electromagnetic sensitive person like me? It would be wired and not wifi, of course. I'm just not sure if the voice search would add anything that would affect me. I don't think I am significantly affected by television. I believe the computer affects me but I have continued to use it. I hope this Roku is ok for me to use but I thought someone on this forum would have more knowledge about that. My daughter wanted to get it for my birthday and we are two weeks late deciding. Thank you.

Re: Roku 3 with voice search

Hi Patsy,

Several years ago I bought a Roku (it was not a Roku 3) because it said on the box that it operated with WiFi or Ethernet cable.  I set it up to the wired Ethernet connection and began to use it.  Within minutes I felt ES symptoms and got out an EMF meter to see what was happening only to discover that strong WiFi pulses from not only the table top unit but also from the handheld controller.  Tried everyway I could to disable the Wifi without success.  After 30 minutes on the phone with Roku they said that there is no way to disable the WiFi since it is programmed to always be on.

Hope this helps.

Bonnie

Re: Roku 3 with voice search

Thank you so much, Bonnie. I had no idea that could happen. I thought the only way you could end up with wifi is if you signed up for it OR bought something that makes it work. You can see I am technologically illiterate. I spent two nights in a hotel that had wifi and got very little sleep. I felt like I was wired. I may have more questions after my company is gone, but your reply is a big help. Thanks.
