Mix half and half Titebond III wood glue and water. Strain sand through a strainer to remove impurities. Then mix sand with glue/water and paint onto wall. Multiple layers is best. I also mix shungite powder with the glue mix and use that as one of the layers. I'm painting my camper like this, looks like a desert rock.
