Received Quantum products

steve
I received the Quantum Outlets and Power Strip.
I installed all of them and decided to check my Entech Outlet Meter even though I didn't think it would affect the readings.
However, with the 3 outlet device plugged in and my fridge plugged into that the reading went from over 30 without to less than 3 with it! Pretty damnimpressive. The Meter plugged into the plain outlet while the compressor was on actually started to get radio signals, I could hear a radio station through the meter. Plugged into the Quantum with the compressor on there wasno radio signal and the reading dropped dramatically. I was not expecting this. I suppose if I buy the Tripplite 2 outlet Isobar and plug this into the Quantum and the fridge into the Isobar that I could get an even lower reading.
The Power Strip dropped the reading from over 2.0 using my APC Surge Strip to less than 1.0 using the Quantum Strip.
So, kind of surprised. I don't know how they make me feel yet as I just plugged them in an hour ago but I will report back.

WOW! This is Huge! Did the Quantum reduce any Gauss readings like from the fridge running?

That *is* surprising... although when I did my testing, I was
using the Stetzer meter, not the Entech.

So, what exactly do the current Quantum outlets look like? Do they look
like present-day Power Sentry products?

http://www.newpoint.com/general_surge_protection.php

I think perhaps that any reduction in readings might be due to the filtration
that is built into the Power Sentry products. The Quantum treatment is
in addition to that, and is the part that makes me feel better (as I
have compared standard Power Sentry strips with the Quantum equivalent).
I do have an Entech meter in this house (somewhere!), so I can also run my
own new tests for meter readings. And although the Quantum power strip/outlet
may reduce the readings on the Entech meter, I doubt that the Quantum Home or
Pro will, as there is no conventional filtering in these products.

As for the Tripplites, if I'm understanding correctly that the ones
from a decade ago are the good ones, then that limits you to
eBay. I've noticed on eBay that there are two different styles --
I believe the modern ones say "TRIPP-LITE" in large letters, while
the older ones say "ISOBAR" in large letters. So presumably you
should be looking for the latter.

Re: Received Quantum products

Yes, the outlet kind look just like the power sentry outlets, very lightweight and cheap looking, however the strip is black (looks quite cheap also) but says APC on it. So they are using a low level APC surge protector for their strip.
As for the Isobars I will check ebay, surprised that Tripplite would reducethe quality of their product like that though.
