Can anyone tell me what the hell is up with the microphone that you plug
into pc for voice rec software. It takes approx 2 mins once plugged in to cuase
my head and ears to tingle more than most things I have encountered. Is
this the high/low frequencies coming from the laptop and the wire is acting like
an antennea ? The microphone that I have is fitted with a snapp on ferrite.
This is really anoyying since the software is a good choice on the face of
it for an ES pc user !!

Have you had success with ferrites on other things. How did you know
which spec to buy, and if you got them from a website, which site did
you get them from? Did you measure the RF coming from different
wires/ appliances and if so which were the worst?

I borrowed the mic from a fellow esser, it had a ferrite already attached,
perhaps I should by some more to snap on say from maplin. I have no way of
measuring RF from the wires or minute emf what meter could tell me this ?

I'm fairly sure I've read on here that you can buy or hire meters to
measure RF and I think I remember reading that some aren't very good,
so maybe if you want to get one you should search for this post,
although maybe it was about a meter measuring something else, I'm not
totally sure.

I definitely think it would be worth trying some ferite on wires on
devices that cause you problems, especially as it is so cheap.
