Does anyone have experience with hybrid cars which are part gasoline and part electric? Do they bother us electronically sensitive folks or are they shielded well to protect passengers?

Thanks for your input,
Mariann

I test drove a Toyota Prius for a weekend once, but didn't notice much.
I didn't like the fact that it had an RF-transmitting key (without a
regular
metal key to turn on the ignition), or that it had a large LCD display
just to use the radio. Fortunately, the car that I would most likely
buy
to replace my current car (Acura Integra->RSX) is still relatively
"low-tech".

It's been suggested that hybrid cars would be likely to give ES folks a
problem, especially those who are sensitive in particular to magnetic
fields. The large electric motor of the car would tend to produce such
fields. This would not affect normal people, but it seems unlikely that the
motor could be shielded well enough to avoid affecting susceptible people.
