forgot to address pain.... i can't say it is 100% safe, depending on what is causing your pain--you would need to be careful how you use this info.... i suggest it for use with no known injury. i use a baseball size crepe rubber ball--one that is very malliable but offers light pressure. i place it under me where i have pain for a few seconds to minutes. then i move it up or down my spine in the hollows or to the sides of my spine where there are no hollows between me and the bed. been using this technique for 3 decades without injury, but the key here is to use a spongey ball--not a tennis ball. it should not hurt and discontinue if it does. it causes relaxation of muscles and, perhaps, might disrupt some painnerve impulses. guessing here--this is my own invention i have shared often with fm and cfsers over the years. some have passed this info on using tennis balls, but i don't think they are safe.
