I have such a small apt. that lengthy airing out isn't an option, I would have no place to sleep.

I thought about an organic futon, maybe with a wool layer for natural flame resistance. I could always place a mattress allergy cover over it to keep in any smell and then maybe get a wool topper if the futon is too firm. I also have fibromyalgia so I have pressure point issues (always flipping myself over because of the pain)

you might want to look into organic cotton futons.
then you have no metal and no chemicals.
of course, cotton has its own unique odor but it
dissipates fairly quickly.
and let me share with you what i did in the past...
i purchased two high quality latex mattresses...
purchased as two sheets of 'foam', from an
upholstery store, put them in an airtight mattress
cover and then used either (alternately) cotton
or wool or sheepskin mattress covers. that
arrangement served me well for many years.
presently, i am using a very well aired-out air
bed with cotton and wool toppings on it - and
that too works well. but if you buy an air
mattress new, you might want to air it out for
a while before you use it. mine is so old that
it doesn't have one of those electric pumps in
it... thank goodness. but it doesn't seem to
lose air... thank goodness. :)

Finding an organic spring mattress is easy but finding one without springs that I won't be allergic to is difficult. If a latex bed smells like latex it would be a problem.

I wonder how many in this group have fibromyalgia symptoms? Five ES people that I know personally, myself included, have fibromyalgia which vanishes when we are in low EMF environments. So my thoughts are that fibromyalgia is a product of elevated EMF exposure.

i can't help but think it is...

it involves muscle contractions

and muscles are controlled by

electrical impulses IN the body

and i'd think also OUTSIDE the

body, as in cell towers, smart

meters, etc.

a woman who used to live where i live

had "fibromyalgia"... and this place is FULL

of EMF. her husband is an IT tech at

the university and LOVES high tech gadgets

so EVERYTHING was electrical and wireless.

and the EMF measures WAY HIGH here.

i had to move out of the house because of

it. her husband has FINALLY come around

to understanding EMF, but it took YEARS

of offering information AND also my own

uncomfortable reactions that could only

have been from EMS... such as when he

would leave his iPod or iPad or cell phone

in his car, and i would ask him if he had

forgotten and he would realize that i could

really FEEL the "vibes". it's now at the

point where he humbly apologizes when i

ask him if he left something in his car.

when we do a reality check, it's usually an

errant piece of electronics...

so he's a believer now.

i believe that if he had solved the EMF

problem out here when she lived here,

she would still be here, but instead he

didn't recognize the problem and she

didn't recognize the source of her

fibromyalgia... and they are now - sadly -

estranged. i wish i could talk with her

about it... maybe someday. ?!?!?
