Re: Sleeping on metal (inexpensive solution)

You can buy a wood and canvas cot that folds up and can be taken on
trips. (At Cabelas' for instance.) Fold a thick wool blanket and put that on top
of the canvas for more comfort and warmth, then put a twin bed fitted sheet
(a bit too big, but it works) over that.

Personally, I am not sensitive to aired-out foam, so I also have a layer
of egg-carton type foam under the wool blanket. Otherwise, add more wool.

It is also possible to shield the whole setup using carbon fiber
shielding taped to refrigerator box cardboard, topped with metal screen. (I
covered the carvbon fiber stuff with plastic patio door stom kit sheeting so as to
avoid the slivers, then put cotton over that, to reduce plastic offgassing.)

The cot is narrow, but I am small and find it quite comfortable.
(Except when both cats decide to sleep with me.)

Hi Shivani - Where did you get the carbon fiber
shielding from?
