Regarding a conversation that took place here on July 14 - Someone said
that refirgerators cause the same health problems that hair dryers do. This is not so. Refrigerators create a magnetic field, but they do not create the damaging high frequencies that hair dryers do. Therefore, if your electricity is filtered, when the frig is on its field does not create health damage. Even at my most sensitive, when I was literally a walking meter, I never experienced any symptoms whatsoever from exposure to our refrigerator in our filtered house. When we look at research, we have to think about whether the researchers distinguished betweeen clean and dirty electricity. It is not a refirgerator (or a hairdryer, for that matter) that causes health problems, but EM energy of certain frequencies . Dear Shivani,
While I have no doubt that what you are saying about high frequency is true, please remember that different people react to different components of the electromagnetic spectrum. We receive reports of people reacting to 60 Hz magnetic fields, AC electric fields, and other frequencies as well. I don't think you can say categorically that field from a refrigerator does not create health damage... it may for some people. Of course you are quite right here Emil.
Some refrigerators may make elektrosmog; whetrther it is in magnetic fields (especially the *fuzzy logic* boards, as well as nasty frequencies like those between 5 kHz and 150 kHz, mainly just above 30 kHz. Shivan is concentrated what she may find in the electrical conduct lines, but what is *in space*, she cannot measure, because she does not have the neccessary metering equipment for that. At the moment I am playing with some brand new meters for high frequency, and I am awaiting for a brand new one for low frequencies, where (it is claimed) the occurring frequencies can be seen on display. The next issue of *het bitje* will feature those meters.
